Rattray Ancestry

Index to Rattrays investigated in the course of my researches.

My line of ancestry is firm to George Rattray, overseer at Yestermains in 1817. Rattray is a fairly uncommon name south of Edinburgh and thus there is a fairly high confidence in the one baptism - in Edinburgh - matching George Rattray but before that there is little confidence since Rattrays  moving down into Edinburgh are more likely to be George's ancestors than Rattrays born in Edinburgh.
