Notes
1 Information from will 1673
2 It appears to be a long gap between Nicholas and Henry. Is there another Nicholas, son of Nicholas somewhere? Henry is not mentioned in the will. There is no record of the burial of a Henry Dickinson between 1655 and 1674 but this is the period of the Commonwealth and the registers are less than reliable.
3 At the Eskdale court of 14 Apr 1676, Micheal (? - could this be Nicholas?) Dickinson was admitted to a tenancy in Eskdale following the death of his father Nicholas Dickinson.
14 Apr 1676: Michael Dickinson atti Eskdale (2/4) fdoh father Nichol. Dickinson (fine £3/6/8) DLEC-BOX 314-1
The annual rent for each half of Randlehow was 2/4d in 1578.he time of the General Fine of 1633.
4 Nicholas is probably the son of the Nicholas Diconson who was the tenant of one part of Randlehow at the time of the 1633 General Fine, but that Nicholas could be the son or grandson of either John or Robert Diconson who were tenants at the time of the Percy Survey. NO This Nicholas is the infant tenant who inherited Randlehow in 1627 following the death of his father Nicholas [Nicholas Dickinson (infant, in the care of his mother Elizabeth Dickinson) atti Eskdale (2/4½) fdoh father Nicholas Dickinson (fine £3)]
