1 The burial entry for Isabel describes her as the wife of / widow of (check which) Nicholas Hartley, of Church House. Isabell left a will referring to her children Thomas and Henry, and Thomas's children including Isabell and (I think) Nicholas.
2 There is reference to a will of 1675 of Nicholas Hartley of Ashdale in the index to Copeland wills. However it is just referenced as frame 25 of film H. 1670 - 1675 are missing from film HK846b. I have found the will at the end of MF.COP 24.
3 Possibly younger son of Nicholas Hartley of Mitredale
4 Mentioned as father of his grandson Nicholas in his will, presumably died before 1675.
5 Mentions his god-children Nicholas Dicconson and Isabel Tyson in his will. Also left small bequests to 'his man' Edward Wilson and his maid Bridget Carter, as well as to Thomas Wilson of Kilnbank and Robert Rawlinson, curate.
