1 The relationship is not certain but Nicholas of Mitredale left both his farms to his son William in 1627. He also had daughters Margaret and Elizabeth. William mentions his sister Margret in his will and also probably the children of his sister Elizabeth.
2 Sons John and William, and daughter Susan are mentioned in William's will. William also leaves legacies in his will to Samuel Moore, Joanna Moore, Jane Troughton and William Nicholson, son of Henry Nicholson of Low Place, and to the children of John Tyson.
Elizabeth Hartley married William Moore on the 1st of September 1633 and is likely to be William Hartley's sister and thus Samuel and Joanna Moore his niece and nephew.
3 John is probably the
John Hartley who married Elizabeth
Hunter in 1657. However it seems unlikely that this son John was born before
1640 - see Admonition 1 re William Hartley
will.
This could be an unusual case of an early marriage. Second thoughts - William is
said to be under age, not John.
