2 The death of a Fanny Staples was registered in the second quarter of 1841 in the Bath district (FreeBMD 11 57). She would not have been enumerated in the 1841 census since that was taken on June 6th.
3 Fanny's brother, William, in 1842 was a timber merchant 'Holmes and Staples', Bath
4 In the 1841 census a James Staples is living with Fanny's brother, William. However James would be 15-20 years younger than Fanny. On the other hand there is a John Staples aged 60, timber merchant, listed in the 1841 census for Bath (and again in 1851). James could well be the son of Fanny and John.
