2    Went to school in Hackney, London, - possibly Dr Newcome's school - and was a guest at Edmund Burke's house at Beaconsfield in 1792.

3    Attended Trinity College, Dublin, where he was involved in a duel in 1798.

4    "John Keogh, the leader of the Irish Catholics previous to O'Connell, had sons who inherited much of his fire and patriotism. John Keogh, his second son, was buried here on September 13th, 1854, and others of the family followed."
