Henry Nicholson of Hollinghow and Yeathouse2
Born around 15401
Married ?1st wife?
Married Emma Jenkinson
Children
Died September 1627
Notes
1 His son William left a will in 1612 naming, along with three daughters, an apparently adult son.
2 Left a will in 1627 listing his daughters. His grandson was admitted to Hollinghow and Yeathouse in the same year.
3 In the Percy survey of 1578 a Henry Nicholson is listed as the tenant of two properties, probably the two halves of Hollinghow, where he is listed as the tenant in the 'Eskdale 24 book' of 1587.
4 The Eskdale 24 book of 1587 lists Edward Woodend and Chris Hartley as tenants of Yeathouse - presumably Henry bought or otherwise acquired the tenancy between then and 1612. (Margaret Russell believes he married twice - his first wife could have been the eldest daughter of Edward Woodend who might have had no sons, or ditto relative to Christopher Hartley).
