Isaac Nicholson
Son of John Nicholson and Mary Sherwen baptised on the 17th of January 1719/20 at Eskdale, Cumberland from Randalhow
Mentioned in his father's will of 1765.
Was left Mosside in the parish of Gosforth by his grandfather, Thomas Sherwen, but apparently became a joiner in Whitehaven.4
Notes
1 An Isaac Nicholson, pauper, was buried at Irton on the 10th of May 1780.
2 Possibly the Isaac Nicholson with children baptised at Muncaster 1754-1768 but this Isaac is more likely to be descended from Henry Nicholson.
3 His eldest brother John got Hollowstones, the next brother got Randlehow - what did Isaac get? He got Mosside in Gosforth parish from his maternal grandfather, Thomas Sherwen! See Thomas Sherwen's will.
4 Isaac Nicholson of Whitehaven, joiner, subscribed to the bond to bring up the children of Isaac's sister, Sarah Gunson, after her death in 1760.
