2 Elizabeth's will 1699 identifies her son John and his son John as in possession at Slapestones. It also beqeathes a trunk to John's daughter Sarah. Not in reference b
3 Referenceb suggests John married Jane Sowerby on the 15th of June 1682 at Lazonby, Cumberland and that his son John was baptised there in 1683. I don't know what led the author of the family tree in the reference to identify John with this marriage on the opposite side of the Lake District. From the IGI there is fairly obviously a Nicholson family established in the Lazonby area
4 Mentioned in Elizabeth's will. John Nicholson's will of 1693 identifies a grandson Isaac but does not mention his grandson John. Isaac does not appear to fit into the families of Henry or Nicholas.
5 John's own will confirms Isaac as one of his two sons. It also names his wife as Jane.
6 A Jane Nicholson was buried in 1731 from Harmuth house - implying a link with the Dickinsons
