Notes
Did not leave a will but there is an inventory and administration order which identifies his daughter Elizabeth as the administrator of his estate, so presumably his wife died before him.
Was Chapel Warden in 1708 and Chapel Rate Collector in 1719. Nicholas Nicholson or his father Nicholas Nicholson of Yathouse was Chapel Warden in 1709 which confirms that there were at least two different Nicholas Nicholsons in Eskdale at this time - not to mention Nicholas Nicholson of Slapestones, Irton.
Buried on the 13th of June 1725 at Eskdale, Cumberland. Nicholas Nicholson of Yathouse married Frances Wasdale on the 29th of May 1711 at Eskdale. Nicholas Nicholson,s will mentions his daughter-in-law Frances Nicholson - so both Nicholas Nicholson of Yathouse and Nicholas Nicholson of Redbrow married a Frances - but Elizabeth is born years before the Frances Wasdale marriage
A good guess of his y.o.b. would be 1675, based on Elizabeth's birth. His wife Frances could not have been born much before 1665.
Birker connections: A Nicholas Nicholson and William Nicholson were both paying land tax in Birker in 1767 but not in 1770 - it appears that John Sharpe and Henry Hartley had taken over those properties in 1770
