A William Nicholson surrendered a tenancy in 1654. A William Nicholson of Longriggreen was left a legacy by William Viccars in 1661. A William Nicholson son Henry of Lowplace was left a legacy by William Hartley in 1652.
A William Nicholson married Bridget Wilson on the 12th of April 1664 at Waberthwaite. Bridget, wife of William Nicholson, was buried on the 3rd of October 1698 at Waberthwaite
