Notes
Identified from entry 1657 concerning church pews in the parish of the Michael's, Macclesfield. He had purchased land from 'Mr Cresswell' and (it is implied) the right to a pew transferred with the land.
He is described in 1657 as 'the late William Swindelles'.
There are references in the parish registers to William Swindells de Ranow. Eadsbury (Eddisbury) is in the township of Rainow so these are probably references to this William.
This marriage is suggested as fitting the assumed date of birth of John. There is another marriage of a William Swindells in 1596.
