1 1841 census. 1851 census staying with Edward Smith and described as 'nephew'. 1861 - living next door to his brother-in-law, William Faulkner. 1871 living at 7, Green Lane in Greenwich: his brother Thomas is living with him. Still living at 7, Green Lane, Greenwich in 1881. (Mistranscribed in Ancestry.co.uk as Levindell). Sarah and children found in 1891 and 1901 but without Francis; she describes herself as married, not widow. However Kate Eliza was born about 1883. Francis Swindell is not found by that name in the 1891 census but a Frederick Swindle of the same age, born in Kent, is listed in Chiswick (West London) working as a gardener.
1901 Francis is boarding at Acton (West London), working as jobbing Gardner. and described as a widower.
