1 Albert was only known though a copy of Agnes's birth certificate found in the Rattray papers in South Africa. Research turned up the marriage; the marriage certificate confirms Albert as George's son. The Tandridge Registers list Albert's baptism but, in the West Surrey Index, as John and Beatrice Ratray's son. This is assumed to be a transcription error but requires checking.
2 This would include Walcot Square which is just south of the Imperial War Museum
3 Death at 46 registered in the 3rd quarter of 1877 at Camberwell - this could have been convenient for Hubert's Grove.
4 Daughter of Thomas Tribe, Lieutenant R.N.; born around 1835 in Gillingham, Kent
