Thomas and Ann Leonard were living three doors away from Joseph and Mary Swindle in Castleside in 1851, having moved from Allendale a few years before Joseph Swindale. Thus Elizabeth would have known her neighbour Joseph well as she grew up. Joseph's wife, Mary, died when Elizabeth was 19 and Elizabeth married Joseph six years later. Four years later Joseph died.
Elizabeth was living at 6, Murray Street, Benfieldside (Consett), County Durham with her two children and two lodgers at the time of the 1881 census.
Died on the 19th of July, buried on the 20th of July 1900 at Blackhill Cemetery, Consett, County Durham2
