Children

Ruth, born on the 13th of July 1839 or 1840 in 'Alston, Cumberland' (Nenthead?)1

Buried 22nd March 1842 in Carrshield, Northumberland (from Nenthead)

In 1839 (in the marriage record for his daughter Mary) Francis describes himself as Lead Mine Agent (ie supervisor) and in 1842 is described as mill overman.

Francis evidently fancied himself as a preacher and, when he was turned down for Methodist training, established his own congregation who called themselves Bochimites. He appears to have been supported by his future brother-in-law, John Clark, who later was one of the supporters of the United Seccession Church in Allendale Town.
