2 In 1861 Mary Ann is living with her mother at Farneyside, West Allen. In 1871 Mary Ann is working as a servant in the Stobbort household at Keenly Fell and in 1881 as housekeeper for Henry Philipson, at Side House, Allendale. (A Mary Swindle, aged 21 is working in 1881 as a servant for George Philipson at 17, Rise Green, Allendale.)
3 The marriage of a Mary Ann Swindle was registered in the third quarter of 1883 in the Hexham district. (FreeBMD 10b 419). The marriages of John Philipson and John Watters are listed on the same page. However I have not found Mary Ann married to John Philipson or John Watters in the 1891 census, nor have I found a death between 1883 and 1891.
