Living as William Kenmire with grandparents Thomas and Jane Swindle in 1861, as William K. Swindle in 1871 and 1881. 1891 living in Castle Eden, married to Ellen E.. 1901 living in Coxhoe.

Birth registered as William Kenmir, married as William Kenmire Swindle. 5

The Kenmire surname suggests that William was a bastard child of  one of Thomas and Jane Swindle's five children.  If Ann was the mother then he should have been registered as a Swindle. Nicholas had legitimate sons Charles and Andrew in 1858 and 1860. William would seem the most likely father to judge from the first name of William Kenmire.

Possible William Kenmir(e) Swindle and bastard grandchild of Jane. E-mail from Nadine Seal. Listed in 1901 census as William K. Swendle. See e-mail from Nadine Seall. (Actually a transcription error for Swindle in the online transcription.

No registration of the birth of William Swindle can be found 1858 - 1860. The birth of William Kenmir is registered in the third quarter of 1858 in Morpeth (FreeBMD 10b 238)
