1 Jenet, daughter of Christopher Vickers, wife of John Dickinson, was admitted to Birdhow in Michaelmas 1647. A Jane Dickinson was buried on 10th July 1671 - but see note 2.
2 John Dickinson was admitted to [Birdhow] on 12 Oct 1677 following the death of his mother Jannet Dickinson.
3 A 1695 probate inventory and administration bond for John Dickinson of Birdhows have survived. The administrators are John Vicars of Eskdale, John Sherwen of Gosforth. Normally one of the administrators would have been an adult son or the wife, so the implication is that the only living relatives were daughters, if any. However a John Dickinson of Birdhows died in 1711, relationship unknown.
4 Jennet appears to be the only (surviving) child since she was admitted as tenant at Birdhow following Christopher's death.
