William Vickars the younger of Taythes
Son of William Vickars
Married Elizabeth
Children
John, born c16113
Died September / October 1620
Notes
1 Died before his father (William), leaving a will.
2 In his will he mentions his brother Robert being in an apprenticeship, and his brother little Christopher - say 18 and 15 respectively (very roughly). Two other brothers Edward and John, and two sisters, one married. It is not clear, but likely, that his son John is still a child.
3 In 1627 John Viccars was admitted to a property following the death of his father Willm. Vickars jnr. [John Viccars atti Eskdale fdoh (7/3½) father Willm. Vickars jnr. (paid 2 fines, £14 [i.e. inc. last general fine?])]. The 7/3½ is consistent with the property being part of Taw House or Taythes. The seven years elapsed since his father's death suggests that John was now 16 and could enter into the tenancy in his own right.
