Died on the 22nd of February 1996 at Leicester.

Ben drove a lorry for the army during the Second World War. He spoke little about it but mentioned driving up onto the beach after the D-Day landings. After the war he set up in a florist's business with his brother Stan in Belgrave Gate where he remained until he retired. I (AJS)  remember the big old-fashioned till in the shop, which went to the rubbish tip when the shop closed because the new owners would not buy it.
