Information provided to me by Anne Roberts 30/3/97 in the form of comments on my family tree at that time

{Text in blue and underlined indicates a hyperlink to other pages on this site. Text in magenta indicates information I believe to be incorrect (but the reverse is not the case - i.e. I have not necessarily checked all the other data and have not necessarily highlighted data I believe to be debatable). For discussion of an individuals information see the individual sheet.}

Peter = Susannah

    By now you have probably got my brief F. Trees of the families of Peter and Francis - sons of above which I sent to Joan to send to you.
    Chn of Peter and Susannah = possibly 9, certainly 8

    ? John of Dryburn Hall m. Ann Bell. According to census ages he would have been born 1771. At his wedding his father's name and signature is Peter.

    Peter and Susannah married by special licence in Jan 1771 yet no child bap. until son Peter in 1774 so I feel that John could well be their first child.

    John's son Peter m. Mary - d. of Francis. The next 8 are Peter, Francis, Barbara (1779-1784), Ann, Susannah (with d. Rachael) then
    Christopher bap 29 May 1787
    Barbara bap 16 May 1790
    Jane bap 30 Sept 1792
    These 3 were bap. at Ninebanks - I have seen a film of the register.

Son Peter = Sarah Lee - 5 children
    First child Peter born 1804 bur 1805 Ninebanks so did not have a boy Christopher. Other people try to make this dead baby Peter into the Peter who m. Mary Dixon who were known as Peter & Mary of Wellhope and had a son Wallis. I believe this Peter to be the son of Peter and Nancy but no baptism can be found (as yet!).
    Jane 1807 - ? may have married George Wilkinson 1835
    Thomas 1810 - married twice 1) Mary Hall 2)Ann Hodgson (I think I may have sent you these details already. If not let me know what you want)
    Susannah 1815 m. Robt Douglas - no family found. Both died and buried at Nenthead - headstone in St John's Churchyard.
    John - married twice (again let me know if you require more than I have sent via Joan {Shrewsbury}
    (Susannah & John baptised at Alston, Cumberland not Northumberland)

Son  Francis 1777 - m 1) Margaret Craig 9 children  2) Margaret Clark 1 child, Ruth
    d. Barbara 1820 between Craig and Jane (again you have put Northumberland)
    Craig born 28 Mar 1815 bap. 9 Oct 1818 - Redwing

    Francis born 1802 (son of Francis gr. s. of Peter & Susannah) also m. twice
            1) Mary Henderson 29 June 1828 Ninebanks (again you have bap. of Redwing in N'ld instead of Cumberland)
            2) Jane Barron 6 Mar 1853 Nenthead, Cumberland  (their son died in infancy 1856)

More information can be sent if you require it

There is also a headstone to Thomas b. 1840 son of Francis (1802) and Mary Henderson at Nenthead

Page 4

Basil Elliott's line (Edinburgh)

Barbara Bowman died/bur Ninebanks not Nineheads

Page 5

Peter = Nancy Bell
    Some of their children were baptised at St Augustine's, Alston, but you have put them as Alston, Northumberland instead of Cumberland

Page 6

Mary Pattinson's line (Penrith) and Bryan Swindle's line from George = Susannah Vipond

George = Susannah Vipond had a daughter Susannah 1814-1818 between sons Jacob and Peter
    Their son Thomas had two wives
    Son Vipond = Margaret Ann Mumberson had 4 children
    Son George m Mary Archer had 9 children

I do have a few census details, but obviously not enough detail. I think Joan {Shrewsbury} said she had sent you Mary Pattinson's family trees.

Page 7

Christopher = Esther Coats (Is she a widow - I have Perl from IGI and Basil Elliott)
    Their child b. 1844 I have as Janenot James,
    I have no details of Christopher or his two wives

Page 10

Mary Pattinson provided some information which is not exactly the same as yours. Again, Joan Shrewsbury may have sent you some this. I cannot help with "the Keswick Swindles"

Do you know who this Jane Swindle is ?

    "Jane Swindal wife of Richard of Mollersteads 19th April 1685 Hexham."

(Mollersteads is near Dalton, Dotland & Barker House, homes of other members of this name)
