This first register is on 40 pieces (80 sides) of parchment which have been conserved and rebound. The transcripts which have been made start with baptisms in 1632 but the earliest entry appears to be in 1625 or 1626. I was particularly interested in a marriage that should have occurred in 1769 but the last marriage recorded in this register appears to be 1753.(The weddings in the next register commence in 1770). I have however transcribed the last page in the register (p80) which contains Christenings and Burials for 1769, some of which are not in the existing transcripts as well as pages 3,4, 5 and 6.
It may be noted that Thomas Parker, the Curate, died in April 1769. The new
incumbent, Aaron Marshall, presumably started the new set of registers in 1771.
