Parish of Haydon Bridge, Northumberland

  • Haydon Bridge, St Cuthbert: Records of baptisms 1654-1957, marriages 1655-1953 and burials 1654-1903 are available at Morpeth Records Centre. Bishops' Transcripts for the period 1769-1870 are deposited at Durham University Library Archives and Special Collections, 5 The College, Durham City. The International Genealogical Index (I.G.I.) includes baptisms 1654-1812 and marriages 1655-1812 for this parish, and Boyd's Marriage Index includes marriages 1655-1812. Transcripts of baptisms, burials and marriages 1654-1991 and of monumental inscriptions are available at Newcastle Central Library, Local Studies Dept.     Note: The Parish boundary of Warden, which includes the chapelry of Haydon Bridge, runs well south of the river - to the meeting of the East and West Allen at Cupola Bridge.
