The Will of Abraham Stephenson 1759

In the Name of God amen the Sixth Day of November in the
Year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty Nine
I Abraham Stephenson of Plumgarth within the parish of Irton
and County of Cumberland Yeoman Being in perfect Mind and
Memory praised be God, Do Make this my Last Will and Testament
in Maņer and form Following
First I Give and Bequeath My Soul into the hands of Almighty God
and Christ Jesus My Mercifull Saviour and Redeemer and My Body to be
buried in Decent and Christian Maņer And as for my worldly Goods
and Estate I Give and Bequeath the Same as Followeth
first I Give and Bequeath unto My Wife Mary Stephenson Twenty Pounds
and to Chose one fether Bed and Beding Suitable to the same and to
be in Lue and for her widow bed and one Close and a table which
standeth in My Bed Roome, and also other Houshold goods to the
value of Twenty Shillings, or Twenty shillings in Mony whether
She is willing to chuse and She shall and May have the Use of My
Chist of Drawers for and during her pure widowhood but not to be
Removed from Plumgarth in full for her share and part forth of my
goods Chattels Rights Credetts and personal Estate. also I Give and
Bequeath Unto My Son William Stephenson one Hundred Pounds
in full for his Share and part forth of my goods Chattell Rights
Creditts and personal Estate. Also I Give and Bequeath Twenty
Shillings to be sent out with the poor Stock of Irton and the poor
People to have the Interest Yearly for Ever, And all the Remainder
and Residue of my goods Chattells Rights Creditts and Estate I Give
and Bequeath Unto My Son Isaac Stephenson whom I Make whole
and Sole Executor of this My Last Will and Testament he paying
My Debts Legacies and Funerall Expences, This I Declare to be My
Last Will and Testament, In Witness whereof I have hereunto set
My hand and seal the Day and Year first above Written,
