This is the last Will and Testament of me Catherine Keogh of
Number 7 Ovington Square Brompton in the County of Middlesex
Widow.
First I direct that all my just debts funeral and testamentary expences shall be paid with all convenient speed after my decease and subject thereto I give devise and bequeath unto my sons The Reverend Edward Drew Keogh of the Oratory Brompton aforesaid Clerk in Holy Orders and Charles Drew Keogh of Number 7 Ovington Square aforesaid Architect and to my friend James de Lacy Towle of Catherine Street Strand Middlesex Esquire All my estate and effects whatsoever real as well as personal and whether in possession reversion remainder or expectancy To have hold receive and take the same unto and to the use of them their heirs executors administrators and assigns according to the several natures and qualities of the same respectively Upon trust to call in sell and convert into money all such parts theeof as shall not consist of ready money and to pay out of the net proceeds of such calling in sale and conversion the following legacies or sums of money (that is to say)
To my sons Edward Drew Keogh Michael Lewis Keogh and Charles George Keogh the sum of one hundred and fifty ponds each
To my daughter Maria Ellen and my step daughter Ellen K eogh the sum of one hundred pounds each
To my sons in law William Henry Richards and Henry Hearne Molyneux the sum of ten pounds each
To my godchildren Louis the son of my late son in law Hugh Birt Wilfrid the son of my late son in law Jordan Crewe and Edward the son of the said Henry Hearne Molyneux the sum of thirty pounds each
To my stepsons George Keogh and Alexander Keogh the sum of five pounds each
To my said son Edward Drew Keogh or other the person who for the time being shall be the Manager of St Raphael Hospital in Sydney Street Brompton aforesaid the sum of fifty pounds for the benefit of the said Hospital
To the Priest who for the time being shall have the care of the Poor Schools belonging to or connected with the said Oratory to sum of fifty pounds to be by him applied in or towards the support of such Schools
To my said sons Edward Drew Keogh in case he shall be living at the time of my decease or if he shall then be dead to the Superior for the time being of the said Oratory the sum of fifty pounds and I earnestly hope that he will offer the Adorable Sacrifice of the Mass for the repose of my Soul and of the Souls of my husband and of our deceased children But I do not make this a condition of the receipt by him of the said last mentioned legacy which shall be paid even in case of non-compliance.
I direct that the said three last mentioned legacies shall be paid out of my purely personal estate and free of legacy duty
To the Reverend Peter Benoit or other the Rector for the time being of Saint Joseph's College at Mill Hill Hendon Middlesex the sum of nineteen pounds nineteen shillings for the purposes of that Institution
To the said James de Lacy Towle the sum of ten pounds ten shillings to buy a ring or some other token in memory of me
To Miss May Gibsone now residing with me the sum of five pounds five shillings for the like purpose
And to such of my grandchildren as are not already named herein the sum of three pounds three shillings each for the like purpose
And as to all the rest residue and remainder of my estate and effects I give and bequeath the same unto and between my said three sons and my daughters Fanny the widow of Hugh Birt Mary the wife of the said William Henry Richards Sophia the widow of the said Jordan Crewse and Agnes the wife of the said Henry Hearne Molyneux in equal shares and proportions as tenants in common and not as joint tenants
And I declare that the legacies hereby given to my married daughters shall be for their respective sole and separate use respectively independantly of their respective husbands and that the receipt of my said daughters respectively shall alone be a sufficient discharge to my executors for the same respectively
And I further declare that if any or either of my said children shall die in my lifetime and before the legacies hereby given to them respectively shall become payable but leaving lawful issue him or her surviving the legacy or share of him or here so dying shall go and belong to such his or her issue respectively in equal shares if more than one but if only one the whole to such one respectively.
And I declare that if under the provision lastly hereinbefore contained any legacy or share shall become payable to or devolve upon any of my grandchildren who for the time being be under the age of twenty one years it shall be lawful for my executors to pay the same to his her or their surviving parent or guardian respectively for his her or their use respectively and the receipt of such parent or guardian shall be a sufficient discharge to my executors
And I expressly declare that my said executors shall not be answerable or accountable for involuntary losses or the one for the other of them but each only for his own respective culpable acts neglects or defaults
And I further declare that they shall have the most absolute discretion as to the time and manner in which they shall dispose of and realise my estate and effects and that they may delay indefinitely the sale thereof or any part thereof if in their opinion it would be disadvantageous to sell or more advantageous to delay the sale thereof or any part thereof
I appoint my said sons Edward Drew Keogh and Charles George Keogh and the said James de Lacy Towle joint Executors of this my will And hereby revoking all former will made by me I declare this and this only to be my last will and testament

This is a Codicil to the above written will of me the above named Catherine Keogh and which I desire to be taken and read as part thereof Whereas my said son in law Henry Hearne Molyneux is now indebted to me in the sum of two hundred and twenty seven pounds ten shillings for money lent by me to him and my said son in law William Henry Richards is indebted to me in the sum of fifty pounds for money lent by me to him Now I desire that my executors shall allow to them all such time for payment thereof respectively as to them my said executors shall seem reasonable In all other respects I confirm my said will In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this fourth day of July one thousand eight hundred and seventy nine

This is a third Codicil to the within written Will of me the within named Catherine Keogh and which I desire to be taken and read as part thereof I revoke the lasy foregoing Codicil (dated the twenty ninth July last) and I desire that my said will shall be read as if no such codicil had been made I give to Mary Hastings of Walton Street Chelsea and Mary Grace Telford Spinsters the sum of five pounds each And whereas my friend Mr De Lacy Towle being desirous (owing to declining health) to be discharged from the office of trustee and executor of my said will and that the legacy of ten pounds thereby given to him may be revoked I accordingly revoke his appointment of trustee and executor and the said legacy so given to him But I confirm in all other respects my said will and the first codicil thereto In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 21st day of November one thousand eight hundred and eighty two

On the 9th March 1885 Probate of this Will and two Codicils thereto was granted to the Reverend Edward Drew Keogh Clerknand Charles Keogh Esquire the Executors.
BE IT KNOWN that at the date hereunder written, the last Will and Testament with two codicils of Catherine Keogh late of No 7 Ovington Square Brompton in the County of Middlesex Widow, deceased, who died on the 17th day of January 1885, No. & Ovington Square aforesaid, was proved and registered in the Principal Registry of the Probate Division of Her Majesty’s High Court of Justice and that Administration of the personal estate of the said deceased was granted by the aforesaid Court to the Reverend Edward Drew Keogh, of the Oratory Brompton aforesaid Clerk, and Charles George Keogh of No 55 Aynhoe Road Brook Green Hammersmith in the said County Esquire the Sons the Executors named in the said Will they having been first sworn well and faithfully to administer the same.
