The Will of Edward Rigg of Low Place 1820

In the Name of God Amen I Edward Rigg of Low Place
in Miterdale in the Parish of Saint Bees in the County of Cumberland
[Yeoman] Do make and ordain, this my last will and Testament in
Manner following that is to say I give and bequeath to my three
Daughters – Thamar the wife of John Gunson Fanny Rigg and
Betty Rigg each the Sum of One hundred Pounds a piece to be
paid to them respectively at the End of twelve Calendar Months
next after my Decease – without Interest – I also give and bequeath
to my daughter Hannah the wife of Joseph Beeby – Thamar Gunson
Fanny Rigg and Betty Rigg the Sum of One hundred Pounds
a piece to be paid and payable to them respectively at the End of
twelve Calendar Months next after the Decease of my wife Fanny
Rigg without Interest and all the Rest Residue and Remainder
of my ready Money Bonds Notes Mortgages and other Securities for
Money Goods Chattels Cattle household Stuff and Furniture Husbandy
Gear living and dead Stock and Crop and all other my personal Estate
and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever Subject to the Payment of all my
just Debts (if any) my funeral and testamentary Costs Charges and
Expences I give and bequeath the same to my said dear Wife Fanny
Rigg and my Son William Rigg equally between them Share and Share
alike And if this [sic] my will I appoint my said Wife Fanny Rigg and
Son William Rigg joint Executors hereby revoking all former Wills by me
made In witness whereof I the said Edward Rigg have hereunto
set my hand and affixed my Seal this nineteenth Day of September

On the fifth day of March in the Year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and twenty one this Will of Edward
Rigg of Low Place in Mitre-Dale in the Parish of St Bees in the
County of Cumberland within the Archdeaconry of Richmond in
the Diocese of Chester, who departed this life on the thirteenth
day of October one thousand eight hundred and twenty,
was proved in common Form and Fanny Rigg of
Low Place aforesaid , widow, one of the Executors herein
named was sworn well and faithfully to execute and
perform the same (power being secured to William Rigg
the other executor who is a minor) and so forth and that
according to the best of the Knowledge Information and
Belief the whole of the Goods Chattels and Credits of which
the Testator within named died possessed within the
Archdeaconry of Richmond in the Diocese of Chester
(exclusive of what the deceased may have been possessed
of or entitled to as a Trustee for any other Person or Persons
and not beneficially and without deducting any thing on
account of the Debts due and owing by the said Testator are
under the Value of Fifteen Hundred Pounds
