In the Name of God Amen the xxiiijth daye of december Anno[que]
domij 1699 I Elizabeth Hartley of Miterdailhead within the pish
of Saint Bees and County of Cumberland Widdow being in
oerfect minde and memory praised be God, doe make this my last
will and Testament in manner and forme Followinge
Impris. I give and bequeath my soule into the hands of Almighty God and
Christ Jesus my mercifull Saviour and Redeemer and my body to
be buried in decent and Christian Manner: And as for my worldly
goods and Estate, I give and bequeath the same as Followeth
Impris. I give and bequeath unto my sonne Nicholas Hartley and his wife and
three Childeren each of them one shillinge in full for theire
parts forth of my goods, Chattels and Estate Item I give and bequeath
unto my daughter Elizabeth Wilson and her Husband Edward
Wilson and to theire five Childeren each of them one shillinge
in full for theire share and and parts forth of my goods Chattells and
Estate, Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Bridgatt
Troughton and her Husband William Troughton and to theire Two
Childeren each of them one shillinge in full for theire share
and parts forth of my goods Chattels and Estate, and all the
Remainder and Residue of my goods Chattells Rights and Creditts
I give and bequeath unto my sonne John Hartley whom
I make whole and sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament
Repayinge my debts, Legacies and Funeral expemce, this I declare
to be my Last Will and Testament, In witness whereof I have hereunto
set my hand and seale the daye and yeare first above written

The Condition of this Obligation is such that if the above bounden John
Hartley
do well and truly Execute, observe, perform fullfill and keep the Last will
and Testamt. Of Elizabeth Hartley, late of Mitredale head in St B.:s
Parish
within the Archdeaconry of Rischmond deceased, in paying all the debts and
Legacies, so far as goods will extend, and Law shall bind him
If also he doe exhibite into the Registry of the said Arch-deaconry a true
and perfect Inventory of all and Singular the goods, Chattells, & Credits
wch. of late were & did belong unto the said deceased ; and make a true & just
account of the same, when he shall be thereunto lawfully called
and moreover (if need require) enter into such further bond wth. More
suffucient sureties for performance of the premises, as the Comissary.
of the said Arch-deaconry for the time being shall think requisite, and
needful : And Lastly save deffend, and harmless keep the above named
Ld. Bishop of Chester his Comissary. aforesd. and all their officers and
ministers whatsoever against all persons by reason of the premises. Then
this obligation to be void and of none effect, or else to remain in force &
vertue
