The Will of Jenett Nicholson 1726  (died 1731)

In the Name of God Amen the Twenty Second Day of September Ano. Domj. 1726 I Jenett Nicholson now of Peelplaw in Eskdale within the pish of St Bees and Conty of Cumberland Widow, Being in perfect Minde and Memory praised be God, Do Make this My Last Will and Testament in Maņer and forme ffollowinge
I Give and Bequeathe My Soul into the hands of Almighty God and Cgrist Jesus My Merciful Saviour and Redeemer, And My Body to be buried in Decent and Christian Maņer. And as for My Worldly Goods and Estate I Give and Bequeath the same as ffolloweth

I Give and Bequeath Unto My Son William Nicholson one shilling in full for his share and part forth of My Goods Chattells and Estate. Item I Give and Bequeath Unto My Son Thomas Nicholson if he be livinge one shillinge in full for his share and part forth of My Goods Chattells and Estate. Item I Give and Bequeath Unto My Daughter Jenett Nicholson and her Husband twenty shillings in full for their share and part forth of My Goods Chattells and Estate, Item I Give and Bequeath Unto My four Grand Children  Jenett Tyson Dority Tyson Sarah Tyson and Hanah Tyson each of them Twenty Shillings Apeece and if any of the said four dye before the said legacies fall due then the Remainder of them shall have the said legacies and part devided Amongst them And the said legacies to be in full for their share and parts forth of My Goods Chattells and Estate. Item I Give and Bequeath Unto My Daughter Elizabeth Dickinson forty shillinges. And it is My Will and Minde that all the Above said legacies by me Given and Bequeathed Shall Not be paid Untill one whole yeare After My Demise. And all the Remainder and [Residue] of My Goods Chattells Rights Creditts and Estate I Give and Bequeath Unto my son Henry Nicholson. And Unto my three Daughters Susan Jackson Elizabeth Dickinson and Isabel Viccars whom I make Joynt Executors of this My Last Will and Testament they paying My Debts Legacies and ffuneral expences. This I Declare to be My Last Will and Testament; In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the Day and Yeare first above Written

2    Jane's fifth daughter, Dorothy, must have married a Tyson but have died before 1726. (A Dorothy Nicholson married an Edward Tyson in 1728 at Eskdale but this obviously is another couple).
