The Will of Jenett Stainton of Randlehow 1679

 

In the Name of God Amen the fourth day of November Annoq
Donij 1679 I Jenett Stainton of Randalhow in Eskdale within the
pish of St Bees and County of Cumberland single woman beinge in
perfect minde and memory praised be god doe make this my last
will and Testament in manner and foerme followinge
Inpris I give and bequeath my soule into the hands of almighty god and
Christ Jesuss my mercifull saviour and Redeemer, And my body to
be buried in the Church or Churchyard of Eskdale and as for my
smale estate I give and bequeath it as followeth
Inpris I give and bequeath unto my Brother Henry Stainton five shillinges in full
satisfacon for his pte forth of my estate Item I give unto his two childeren
either of them five shillinges, Item I give and bequeath unto my sister Sarra
Birkett and her husband Thomas Birkett five shillings in full satisfaction
for theire pte forth of my estate Item I give unto theire three childeren
five shillinges apeece Item I give unto my god child Nicholas Nicholson five
shillinges Item I give unto every god child I have els Twelve pence apeece

Item I give unto my Master John Nicholson Tenn shillinges Item I give unto his
wife one silver ringe one litle laced nappkin and broad laced p[.ier] and
the cloth which is at dyeinge Item I give unto Meaball Head one coate
and weastcoate with someline close Item I give unto Stephen Nicholson
wife one coate which hath blow border Item I give unto Anas Midleton
one black coate Item I give unto Ann Nicholson one ould Read coate, And
all the rest6 of my estate I give unto my Brother John jnr Stainton and to my
siste Elizabeth jnr Stainton whom I make Executors of this my last will
and testament the payeing my debts and legacies and funerall expences
In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the day and
yeare above written
