Will of Joseph Gregg of Smithygreen made 17th January 1735

In the name of God Amen I Joseph Gregg of Smithygreen in Withopp in the County of Cumberland Yeoman being well stricken in age but of sound and perfect disposing mind and memory thanks be to God for the same and calling to mind the uncertanty of this mortle life and that it is appointed for all men once to dye Do make ordain and declare this my Last Will and Testament in manner following first I commit my soul into the hands of Almighty God my maker hoping thorough the meretorious Death and passion of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to inherit everlasting life and my Body I commit to the ground to be decently buryed at the discretion of my executrix hereafter nominated and touch-ing such temporal estate as it hath pleased God to lend me I give bequeathe and dispose of the same as followeth
First I give and bequeathe unto my natural daughter Ann Bell the wife of Robert Bell of Smithygreen aforesaid the Just Sum of One Pound.

Also I give and bequeathe unto my said daughter Ann Bell one Cubbard and Table and Dresser which are mine all of them now standing in the great House at Smithygreen which my son in law Robert Bell now lives in But upon the condition only that the said Ann Bell my heir take to the Chapple Stock belonging to Withopp Chappel as it is now settled upon the ..naments and so pat or always cause to be paid as they shall become due unto the said Chappel the devotion and interest money for the said stock and do all other dues and duties as heretoforehath been accustomed to be done But if the [dong?!] or refuse to take to the said stock and to make payments and do duties as before [noted?] then my will and pleasure is that the said Household goods mentioned in this bequest shall go to my executrix hereafter nominated
And lastly all the rest and resadue of my goods and chattles movable and immovable whatsoever (after my debts and .ogaires and funeral Expenses are fully paid and discharged) I give and bequeathe unto my loving wife Ann Gregg whom I hereby nominate & constitute sole executrix  of this my last will and testament Hereby revoaking all former wills and testaments made either in word or in writing and this only to be taken as and for my last will and testament and no other In Witness whereof I the said Joseph Gregg have hereunto sett my hand and seal this seventeenth day of January in the year of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred and thirty five.
