The Will of Nicholas Stephenson of Crosbythwaite 1770

In the name of God Amen, I Nicholas Stephenson of ..
in the Parish of Millom and County of Cumberland, considering the Uncer
tainty of this mortal life and being of sound and perfect mind &
Memory (blessed be Almighty God for the same) do make & pub
lish this my last Will and Testament in Manner and Form Follow
ing. First I will that my Debts and Funeral Expences be paid &
discharged by my Executor hereafter named I give & Bequeath
unto my oldest Daughter Jane Tyson the wife of Jacob Tyson in
the Hamlet of Cleator the sum of seventy five Pounds lawful
money to be paid to her or her Husband the Second Candle
mas after my decease. Also I give and bequeath unto my
Daughter Mary Lindell the Wife of Simon Lindell the Sum
of eighty five Pounds current Money, to be paid to her or her
Husband the second Candlemas or the Second Thirteenth
Day of February after my Decease - - -
And as to all the rest Residue and Remainder of my Personal Estate
wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me, I give and Bequeath
the same and every part thereof with my Son Thomas Stephenson of Crosby
thwaite, whom I constitute & appoint Sole Executor of this my last
Will and Testament hereby revoking all Former and other Wills
and Testaments, by me at any Time heretofore made & published
In Witness whereof I have hereunto put my Hand & [seal]
the seventeenth Day of February in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven
hundred and Seventy - - -

Nicholas Stephenson the Testator as for his last
Will and Testament in the Presence of us who
in his Presence and at his Request, & in the Pre
sence of each other have hereunto Subscribed
our Names as Witnesses thereunto
