The Testament Dative and Inventory of the Goods Gear debts and sums of money which pertained and belonged and were addebted and resting owing to umqle1 Peter Rattray merchant in Holyroodhouse at the time of his decease  who
deceased upon the sixth day of December one thousand seven hundred and Eighty seven years Faithfully made and given up by Elizabeth Elder widow of the said Defunct and only Executrice dative qua relict decerned to him and that by Decreet of the Commissaries of Edinburgh as the same dated the twenty third day of July one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight years in itself more fully bears. -----------

In the First the said umqle Peter Rattray had pertaining and belonging to him, at the time of his decease foresaid the several articles of household furniture after mentioned of the respective values following

Chrystal Rouping woman in Canongate conform to her signed estimation thereofdated the fourth day of January one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight years. Follows the Merchant Goods in the Defuncts Shop

All Sterling money Extending the values of the Defuncts Shop Goods before written in haill to the sum of two hundred and thirty pounds nine shillings and four pence Sterling which articles were so valued by William Hall Merchant in Edinburgh conform to his signed valuation thereof dated the fourth day of January one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight years and Extending  the values of the Shop Goods with the household furniture before mentioned In haill to the sum of two hundred and seventy three pound seventeen shillings and ten pence Sterling which In Scots money is three thousand two hundred and eighty six pounds fourteen shillings
