Fletcher mining agreement with Henry Wyndham 1855

I General Henry Wyndham of Cockermouth
Castle in the County of Cumberland Lord of
the Manor of Five Towns with Eaglesfield
in the said County do by this Writing under
my Hand grant unto Isaac Fletcher and
William Fletcher both of Greysouthen in the
said County Coal Proprietors Liberty to continue
the Communication or Outstroke made by them
from and out of a certain Colliery or Coalmine
situate in the Township of Little Clifton in the
said County into my Colliery or Coalmine at
Bridgefoot in the said Manor and thereby to
draw and bring the coals out of or from the
said Colliery or Coalmine of them the said
Isaac Fletcher and William Fletcher by and up
the Pit or Shaft belonging to me situate and
being in a certain Close or Parcel of Land at
Bridgefoot aforesaid called Little Croft and holden
of me as a customary Estate of Inheritance and
Parcel of my said Manor they the said Isaac
Fletcher and William Fletcher thereby doing as
little Damage or Injury as reasonably may be
and paying for all Damages to be occasioned by
their so doing and also paying me and my
Assigns or Successors in Estate at Christmas yearly
during the Continuance of this licence, the clear
Rent or Sum of one Penny half Penny for each
Ton of Coals which they should draw and bring
up the said Pit or Shaft, each Ton to Consist
of Six Baskets or Tubs And I declare that
this Licence shall not extend to be Construed to
extend to the said Isaac Fletcher and
William Fletcher digging or getting any Coals
out of or from my said Colliery or Coalmine
or for any other purpose than as aforesaid And
that the same shall continue in force until
six moths notice be given by either Party of
his or their intention to put an End to the same
