1    Information from Norman Swindle 30/12/05

2    I had thought this was the John Swindle who married Elizabeth Dixon on the second of April 1892 in Newborough, Northumberland. However the marriage certificate shows this was the son of an Edward Swindle, pitman.

3    Probably the John Swindle who fractured his right thumb while working for the South Tyne Coal Company in Haltwhistle in 1924 and was the subject of a non-fatal compensation claim.
