Notes

0    Text in red represents information obtained from the internet (family trees etc) which I have not yet confirmed.

1    Chambers Family Tree on Ancestry lists marriage to  Andrew Selkirk on the 29th of May 1842 in Newcastle upon Tyne - but this is the daughter of John Swinney, Engine... . It is unlikely that the wrong father would be named but not out of the question.

Margaret, daughter of George Swinney, is the only Margaret Swinney of the right age and in the right place.

2    The names listed on p319 of the marriage register are:-
James Cawthorn;  Bamborough Fenwick; Edward Hopper ;  John Maw; (Newbegin  Elizabeth); Hannah Pearson ;  Grace PROUD; Dorothy Ann Rain  ;  Margaret Swinney
