1    This is possibly the Peter Swindle recorded as working at Coalcleugh lead mine from 1812 to at least 1816

2    Ann and Mary Jane both moved to Bywell St Andrew by 1873

3    All three daughters had illegitimate children after Peter's death.

a)    1841 UK census    A lead miner (40) living with his father at Dryburn Hall and (unknown relation) Margret Swindle ('20'). They have an 11 year old girl Margaret Brown to help and share the building with 50 year old Elizabeth Shield.   
        1851 UK census    A lead miner living in Dryburn Hall with his wife and two daughters and his father John.
        1861 UK census    A lead miner now living at Farhouses in Coalcleugh.

b)    The death of Peter Swindle aged 66 was registered in the second quater of 1861 in the Hexham district (FreeBMD 10b 164)
