2    Elizabeth born c1798 Barton(Yorkshire 1851, Durham 1861)

3    A 4 year old Thomas Kay was staying with Thomas and Jane in 1841. This would be Thomas Swindle Kay, the son of  Thomas's sister Hannah

4    Charlaw Fell is 2km NW of Sacriston but Charlaw colliery was only five hundred metres from Sacriston cross-roads

        The death of an Elizabeth Swindle aged 81 was registered in the first quarter of 1878 in the Chester le Street district (FreeBMD 10a 281)
