(Possibly son of Robert Swindale and Margaret Armstrong baptised 23 June 1761 in St John Lee, Northumberland but the baptismal records for Andrew and Ann state that William is a native of Symonburn Parish and the names of the first two children are the names of William's parents).

Sons Thomas and William both die in Kenton and are buried at Gosforth.

There are at least two children missing from the list above since Thomas and Ann are described as 3rd son and daughter respectively.

There is a William Swindall baptised in 1761 in St John Lee, died 1849 in the Hexham district but not found in the 1841 census.

Although both William and Ann are found in the 1841 census, death registration has not been found for either of them.

Although Esther was baptised in St Andrew's, the 1861-1891 censuses give her birthplace as Kenton

a)    1841 UK census    William '70'  and Ann '65' are living in Kenton (near Gosforth). An agricultural labourer.
