1    Marriage registered in Barrow in Furness in the second quarter of 1880. Probably the Agnes Swindle who was buried on the 26th April 1923, aged 75 at St. Mary's, Dalton in Furness (National Burial Index 2nd Edition)

2    Information from Norman Swindle. His transcription of the 1871 census says 'Baukhouse?, Keswick', but the piece number is well away from Keswick. Kinniside is the high ground to the south of lower Ennerdale and the site of Crag Fell mine and Iron Crag mine.

3    Death of a George Swindle at the age of 60 was registered in the 3rd quarter of 1904 in the Ulverston district.2
