Martin Peter Swindle

Son of Robert Swindle and Hannah Bell, born 1867 in Haydon (??), Northumberland,  baptised on the 2nd of November 1867 in Ninebanks, Northumberland

Married Martha (Philipson? 1), (born 1872, buried on the 27th of October 1941 at Newbrough, Northumberland from Kiln Cottages)


Son, baptised on the 8th September 1912 in Warden, Northumberland

Living with his father at the time of the 1881 census and 1891 census, when he is described as a lead miner. Described as a barytes miner in the 1901 census and as a miner in 1912  probably at Settlingstones mine, 2km north of New Alston.

Buried on the 1st of October 1952 at Newbrough, Northumberland from St Camella's Hospital, Hexham


1    Martha (or Martin and Martha) is said to be from New Alston Hay Barn in George's baptismal register entry. She is not listed as Martha Swindle or Swindell in the 1901 census. Martha Philipson, born c 1875, was living next door to Martin (i.e. at New Alston, Haydon) at the time of the 1901 census
