Norman moved to Keswick when his father returned there by the time of the 1881 census. It appears that George emigrated to the USA and that Norman followed his father shortly afterwards.

Notes

1    The birth of Norman Wallace Swindle was registered in the fourth quarter of 1876 in St Savoir, London (FreeBMD 1d 92). Although the 1881 census gives Norman's age as 10 this is only pencilled in and is in error. The 1891 census gives the correct age.

2    In the 1881 census Norman is  living with his father in Keswick but
in 1891 he is living with his grand-mother (in Keswick).

3    Mary Pattinson has found 'George Swindle on a passenger list for 1888 to New York, a 38 year old grocer'. Furthermore 'Norman Wallace...in Keswick in 1891 but in the 1910/20/30 census for USA he is in Chicago with his wife Esther(Ester) and daughter Dorothy.
He emigrated in 1891 and became a citizen in 1897. Norman died in 1951 in Chicago.
